8th grade promotion

8th Grade Event Donation Request

Planning is in full swing for our 8th grade celebrations and we need your support to make our 8th graders’ last week at WCI the most memorable!

  • May 17: Promotion party in Squire Hall with carnival games, a DJ, karaoke and more
  • May 28: Picnic at Heather Farm with games, a BBQ lunch and lots of pool time
  • May 30: Promotion ceremony - The main event on the WCI field

To help with the cost of these events, PTA and Walnut Creek Intermediate are asking for a donation of $85 per 8th grade student. Any donations received above and beyond event costs will be contributed to the 2024-2025 Las Lomas class fund.

Your contributions go directly to cover costs such as game vendors, DJ, food, sound system for promotion, picnic area and pool reservation fees, party supplies, 8th grade promotion yard/window signs and more.

Any amount you can contribute is greatly appreciated! Please make your contribution by Friday, April 12 so we can make any budget adjustments if needed.

How to Contribute for your 8th Grade Student:

  • Go to "My Account" (second from the right in this Navigation Menu)
  • Scroll down to select "My Forms/Paperwork" (as shown below) to login
  • Once logged in select the "8th Grade Promotion Class of 2024" Form
  • Only families with 8th Graders should be able to see the forms. If you do not see the form, make sure your 8th grader is on your family profile (click Family Information link). If they are not, add your new student to your profile.

We want to highlight WCI PTA’s impacts so far this school year and what you can look forward to for the Spring Semester. We are so grateful for your volunteer hours, donated items,  and your contributions to the PTA Annual Fund – THANK YOU!

On that note, we still need YOU! We are currently 300+ members strong but we would love to see this number grow to represent more voices of our community. Can we make it to 400… or more?

Membership and Annual Fund donations directly fund the budget we can work with. Join the PTA today and please consider donating to the PTA Annual Fund, any time. The more members we have, the bigger the impact we can make on our students' educational experience!

Welcome to 2023-24! When you donate to the Walnut Creek Education Foundation (WCEF) and join the PTA you are supporting our school! Your donations to WCEF are vital to enhance your child's education beyond what the state funds.

California ranks 33rd in the country in per student funding resulting in only a basic education. The programs, teachers, and elective classes that make WCI special—credentialed librarian, math coach, more electives for students to choose from—are made possible only through your donations to WCEF.

The WCI PTA plays a crucial role in building community, organizing events, and supporting our exceptional teachers and staff and is part of a larger state association. To maintain these valuable programs and services, we kindly request families to contribute to both WCEF and the PTA this year.

The suggested donation to meet our 2023-24 $1.5 million goal is $825 per child to WCEF and $50 per child to PTA. However, what matters most is a united community coming together to give and volunteer whatever we can.
